All of that has happened in Indonesia was due to the fact that I was one of the students from Ateneo de Naga University who managed to get into the SEA-Teach program. There were 6 of us: 1 assigned to Padang, 2 in Yogyakarta, 2 in Solo, and then there's me who is off to Kendari. The travel was tiring given that I was from the province me and my fellow Ateneans rode an 8-hour bus ride to Manila and then for me there were 3 plane rides before I reach Kota Kendari.
Upon arrival in Indonesia, we stayed in a hostel in Bali to get some decent sleep since our next flight will be the following morning. There in Bali, we stayed in a really affordable place that did not disappoint and there we had the initial impression that Indonesians are warm people. At the morning, me together with two Filipinas walked around Bali and there we saw the strong Hindu influence at the architecture of the place. We then reached our destination: Pantai Kuta which is known for wonderful sunsets but being there at 7 AM, we witnessed the beautiful hues of the sky which I really enjoyed.
Right there and then, I was very much looking forward to my stay in Indonesia.
